Rajshahi University (RU) Overview
Rajshahi University (RU) is one of the oldest universities in Bangladesh which was situated in 1953 and through 64 years it has been providing services and researches throughout the whole country.“Bara Kuthi”, 18th century’s Dutch trading house was made the administration building for serving the purpose before starting the complete organism of the campus. It is located from the 7 km east of the Rajshahi City near Padma River on the lands of Motihar.
This university has seen the effects of 1971 and there are relics of the war on campus ground because intellectuals were killed on campus ground and this university still holds the monuments built to honour the intellectuals. Moreover, this campus was very active at the protest against the military rule of Hossain Muhammad Ershad from the 1980s. From 1990 this university lowers its political activities and lowered the session backlogs. Now, there are about 26,495 students, 1778 academics staffs working under 52 departments are organized into 10 faculties which are Arts, Law, Science, Medicine, Business Studies, Social Sciences, Life and Earth Sciences, Fine Arts and Agriculture.
This university has opened the Faculty of Engineering in 2009 which is the first one to open a department of electronics and engineering under a university which is not science and technology. Moreover, this university has 16 residential halls five for the woman and eleven for man. This university has an affiliation with the major cultural group including, including Udichi and Gono Natto Shongstha.
Moreover, this campus is the most beautiful campus in Bangladesh. It has the 25,000 seats of the stadium, 2 gymnasiums, 1 swimming pool, 4 football grounds, 1 hockey ground, 4 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, and a squash court which are enormous. Furthermore, in every national day, this university holds a program of different kinds like cultural festivals, mourning rally and public meetings over the significance of the day observed.

It has been stated by the University Authority that last year there will be no chance of readmission, once an individual gives an exam in Rajshahi University it will be his/her first and last time of examination. Requirements For Admission Test
- Interested applicants should pass SSC/Equivalent exam between the year 2015 to 2016 and HSC/Equivalent exam in 2018 to give examination in Rajshahi University for this year.
- Students belonging to Science Group must have minimum GPA 3:00 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 8:00 with 4th subject.
- Students belonging to Arts Group must have minimum GPA 3:50 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 8:00 with 4th subject.
- Students belonging to Business Studies Group must have minimum GPA 3:50 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 7:50 with 4th subject.
For GCE level “O” Concerned competitors need to go in 5 subjects and level “A” needs to go no less than 2 subjects. Both of the 2 levels Concerned competitors need to pass 7 subjects and need to get review “B” in 4 subjects and grade “C” in 3 subjects. Their inquiry will give English dialect if essential.

According to the latest news from Rajshahi University, This year Rajshahi University has cancelled the MCQ System exam from the session 2019-2020. Instead of an MCQ based exam, the written exam will be taken.
Application & Admission Test Procedure
Every applicant should be applied for their expected subjects/department through official website http://admission.ru.ac.bd
This year exam will be MCQ type, short type question and written based on Units. 60 Marks for MCQ and 40 Marks for Written exam. Exam Duration will be 1 hour. The pass mark will be 40 and besides, 30 and 25 pass mark for a few selected departments.
After the Admission test, Rajshahi University Admission Test Result will be published on their official website (www.ru.ac.bd).
